- Literacy Volunteers of America
- Help others learn to read and develop a love of reading. Call (908) 518-0600
- AARP Tax Counseling
- People needed to provided tax counseling to elderly and low income individuals in Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Westfield and all of Union County. Call Ed Evans at (908) 233-1911.
- Fanwood Rescue Squad
- Looking for individuals to become new members. For more information or to volunteer call (908) 322-9000.
- Best Friend Second Chance Shop
- This all-volunteer group needs help at their Scotch Plains store and to provide foster homes to the pets rescued. For more information call (908) 233-9041 or via email.

Thousands of Fanwood residents volunteer thousands of hours every year in all kinds of situations. The hardest part is often finding an opportunity that fits your interests or knowing who to contact to offer your services.
If you would like to find out what opportunities are available, the Volunteers who run VisitFanwood.com have provided the following form to help. Members of the Fanwood Volunteer and Communications Committee will try to match your interests with an organization that needs your help.
Volunteer opportunities run from stuffing envelopes in your spare time to being an active member of Fanwood's Volunteer Rescue Squad or Fire Department or perhaps serving on a Borough Committee. The amount of time you give is entirely up to you and filling out this form does not commit you to anything.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people in Fanwood, to really feel a part of the community and
to really feel good about yourself! If you would like more information, please feel free to email us or to complete the form below.
We welcome inquires from individuals and groups and from people of all ages. If you are under 18, please get a parent's permission before contacting us.
