- Grass Clippings
Grass clipping pickup is a resident paid service for which arrangements must be made between the resident and the scavenger servicing their property. The Borough does not pick up grass clippings. Contact your scavenger for details.
- Leaf Program
Pickups occur April 1st thru April 5th and October 28th thru December 6th. Check the Events Calendar and TV-35 for reminders. Place leaves loose , in neat windrows at the curb, do not bag leaves. Keep rocks, sticks, grass clippings, etc. out of the leaf piles. Leaf piles containing foreign material will not be picked up.
Having your cars removed from the streets during the leaf pick-up program is very helpful and would create a more effective and expedient program.
- Leftover Paint
- Buy only the paint you need. That way, you reduce the chance of having any paint leftover in the first place.
- Store paint so that it lasts for years. Just cover the opening with plastic wrap and replace the lid. Then, store the paint can UPSIDE DOWN!
- Use up all your paint. Now that you know how to keep your leftover paint fresh for years, don't forget about it. Use it up!
- Recycle the empty paint can. Once you have used up your paint recycle the empty steel cans by bringing it to the Recycling Center.
- Finally, as a last resort dispose of paint properly.
Latex is not accepted at the County Household Special Waste Days. If the latex paint has already solidified in a closed can, you can dispose of it in your normal trash. If the paint is still a liquid you will need to dry the paint first. One method to quicken the drying is to add an absorbent material such as speedy dry, cat litter or shredded newspaper.
Oil Based Paint should be disposed of at a County Household Special Waste Disposal Day. These events, which are sponsored by Union County, are held several times a year. Check the Events Calendar and TV-35 for announcements of upcoming dates.

Please do not leave materials unless the center is open. Violators are subject to a $500.00 fine.
- Snow Removal
Sidewalks must be shoveled within 24 hours of a snow storm. If your walks are not shoveled, you are subject to a fine.
Cars should be removed from the streets when snow is predicted. Residents who live on dead ends or cul-de-sac streets should not park in the street or we will be unable to plow. Your taxes pay for snow removal services and it costs more to do when cars are on the streets.
Shovel your driveway by the street to the right. The plows will then carry the snow away from your driveway and not into it. Do not shovel or blow snow into center of roads this will freeze and create an unsafe ice condition.
