SPLASH! Read, this book club/storytime is a
fun exploration of ocean life, meeting
weekly on Mondays at 1:30 through August 9th.
Each week includes stories, biographies,
science and a craft or activity. Children
must be at least 5 years old. Prior

- MONDAY NIGHTS ARE SPECIAL! presents:an Ocean Science Party with Marine Scientist, Diane Gitler
- Monday, August 2nd - 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Programs for Children WHERE: Fanwood Library - Fanwood Room
 Just a few of the activities include:
Examine beach sand from dozens of locations
throughout the world; learn why the color and
texture differ from beach to beach.
Examine a huge collection of seashells from
many locations throughout the world and learn
how many were valued in different cultures.
Examine many species of coral animals and
learn how reefs are formed.
Use wave bottles to "see" a wave crashing; a
visual display details how tidal bulges and
tsunamis are created, and how the moon
effects tides at the beach.
Examine a real shark jaw and tail, plus a
huge collection of shark tooth fossils. Holy
Megalodon! Also, examine models of toothed
and baleen whales and a collection of real,
preserved sea animals too.
This is a free program. Prior registration
is not required. Children must be seated

 Looking to add a little drama to your life
this summer? Want to go from reading about
spies, romance and adventure to feeling the
rush of emotion as you stand at the edge...??
Come join Les Minski, actor, director,
Broadway performer, in a scene
study/monologue class at the Fanwood Library.

WHAT: Scene Study Class with Les

WHERE: In the Fanwood Room in the Fanwood
Memorial Library
WHEN: 7:15 - 8:45 pm; Every Tuesday
from
July 13th to Aug. 17th
WHY: - to work on audition pieces
(monologues);
- to tackle problem roles or moments you
have wanted a second shot at;
- to cut to the bone and make scenes(and
performances) more impactful;
- to have a place to push your limits.
While no fee is involved, you will need to
spend some time working outside the class.
So...come prepared to work, to grow...and
have some fun!
PLEASE NOTE: Participants
need to be 18
years old and up!
Also, feel free to bring scenes and scripts
with you.
Les Minski is a Fanwood resident who
performed for the library this past
Valentine's Day with his wife, Ann, in A.R.
Gurney's "Love Letters". He might be known to
some as the director of "A View From The
Bridge" and "Social Security" at the
Carriage House here in Fanwood. Les also
directed well received productions of "The
Sisters Rosensweig", "Sly Fox" and "The
Guys" at Circle Players in Piscataway.
He has studied acting and directing with
George DiCenzo, Polly Holliday and Milton
Katselas in NYC. Having acted on stages from
Maine to Florida and west to Chicago, he
counts roles as diverse as Jamie Tyrone,
Billy Bigelow and Daddy Warbucks on his
resume.
He was fortunate and privileged to create the
role of the Marquis St. Evremonde for both
the world premiere and Broadway productions
of Jill Santoriello's A Tale of Two Cities,
