Fanwood is served by rail and bus service both provided by NJ Transit.

   The rail line is known as the Raritan Valley Line and runs from High Bridge, New Jersey to Penn Station in Newark, New Jersey. Connecting trains are available at Newark to take you into New York City.

   Fanwood is served by two bus lines. A local (No. 18/22) which runs throughout the Plainfields and the Number 113 which runs to the Port Authority in New York City.
